Summary: 7700 calibration, tipping bucket calibration, cleaned wasps out of HMP60 shield and restored fan to working state.

Daphne and I arrived at 12:45. It was mostly clear and sunny with a light breeze. The water level was 11cm â€“ relatively low. The wetland is still more green than brown. Lots of wasps everywhere.

Wasps were inside the HMP60 solar shield and the fan was not spinning. I took the solar shield apart and evicted all the wasps. The fan looked pretty new and worked well once I cleaned some cattail fluff out of it. I added some liquid electrical tape to protect the power leads and put it back together â€“ hopefully the fan will keep the wasps out.

There were wasps in the corner post near the eddy sensors. I chased most of them out and put some screen over the top of the post.

The 7500 read: 429ppm CO2, 607mmol/m3 H2O, 25.3C, 102.0kPa, 97SS â€“ 98 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 2.34ppm CH4, 40.5RSSI â€“ 80RSSI after cleaning.
The wash reservoir was about 4/5 full â€“ refilled. Even with the box top open wasps were hiding in the box.

We calibrated the 7700. The tubing protecting the 7700 fine wire thermocouple had broken. We replaced it after calibration and the temperature reading was still ok. The hat and auto-wash spray head were reinstalled.

We also calibrated the tipping bucket sn 50229-112. After cleaning the tipping bucket we connected it to a CR23x and dripped 475ml of water through the bucket which should result in 100tips. We got 96 tips â€“ we did not adjust it. There were some tips recorded in the precip bucket -- those are from the testing, not from rain, and should be removed.

Daphne straightened up the wiring in the data logger box a bit, but it needs more work.
