Summary: No water under the tower, swapped 7500, plant samples for Alex, moved the bottom boardwalk lower.
East End 2019-10-31 Camilo and I arrived at 13:15. It was clear, sunny and mild with little to no wind. The wetland is yellowing. There is no water under the tower – I was able to stand on the mud in my hiking boots. Squishing the mud down next to the staff gauge revealed the water level at 6cm. The 7700 read: 2.1ppm CH4, 22RSSI – 80.8 after cleaning. There were lots of spider webs and cattail fluff on the eddy equipment and the wash reservoir was almost empty – refilled. We swapped the 7500: sn 75H-2176 came off and sn 75H-2514 went on. Before: 414.5ppm CO2, 212.8mmol/m3 H2O, 20.3C, 102.2kPa, 96.5SS – 98 after cleaning After: 432ppm CO2, 202.2mmol/m3 H2O, 20.6C, 102.2kPa, 97.4SS Camilo cleaned the radiometers and collected tule and cattail samples for Alex’s decomposition experiment. We lowered the lower boardwalk one rung to make it easier to reach the data logger box. We might need to move the staff gauge to make it easier to see with the boardwalk in its new position. We left at 13:40 |
