Bouldin Corn: 2019-04-18 09:20:00 (DOY 108)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Alex, Jiangong
Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, moved soil sensors off the field, re-installed PurpleAir sensor, field is being disced and sprayed
2019-04-18 Bouldin Corn Alex, Jiangong, and I arrived at 9:20. It was a warm, sunny, and still day. While we were there, a famer disked the western and northern edges of the field before moving onto the fields north of the highway. Alex pulled our soil sensors out of the field and re-installed the soil moisture and SHF plates under the tower (the thermocouples are in the air). We also called Tyler and he came by later to move his chambers. Jiangong cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was mostly full; we topped it off. I downloaded met, camera, and USB GHG data. We re-installed the Purple Air sensor (sn 68c63acc07a9) and checked that the sensor light was on. AirT had dropped between 2019-04-09 and 2019-04-12; it looked like the mux wiring block was loose, so I pushed it back in. The met numbers looked ok, and I’ll double check it next time. LI-7500 readings: CO2 445ppm H2O 550ppm T 18.5C P 101.5kPa SS 102--> 103 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 2.08ppm RSSI 47-->89 after cleaning We left our shovel there for Tyler to remove his chambers later in the day. We left at 9:50. When we drove by again around 10:40, there was a crop duster spraying over our fields. Tyler reported it looked like a light rain on his chambers, but it was a sticky substance. |
