8/20/2009 Arrived about 8:30am. Windy, cool, clear. Rice maybe 50% flowered. Still grading to the west for another couple weeks – lots of dust. Everything was running. Three-channel LGR was reporting: 1.84 ppm CH4 377.3 ppm CO2 14663.79 ppm H2O 24 C 18.2 usec 108 Torr I took the 12VDC power down while I ran new power line to the web cam and rerouted the power to the data loggers, sonic and LI-7500. I missed the LI-7500 connection at first so it was down a while longer than the rest. I was having problems with connecting to the web cam, so I removed the custom power over Ethernet cable and replace with dedicated power and cross-over Ethernet cables. Still having problems with the Ethernet. Discovered that one of the pins in the netbook RJ45 connector was pushed back into the computer and not making a connection. I took the netbook apart (lost two small screws) and was able to push the pin back into place. Web cam back online. Cables rerouted and cleaned up. The enclosure that used to house the computer was removed. Checked the filters on the LGR tubing, seemed relatively clean. LGR pressure increased to 113 Torr. I adjusted the bypass value (very sensitive compared to others) to bring pressure up 143 Torr. Cleaned dirt from radiation sensors and LI-7500 Changed the CR1000 program to avoid problem of NANs in slow data file. Slow table only called when there are no NANs in the 10Hz data. Swapped flash card. Copied data. Will be on Data PC soon. Put a tag identifying our power cord where it plugs into the generator. Posted a contact sheet in the building with contact numbers for Joe and Dennis and location of our tower. Left about 1:30 for Sherman |
