Twitchell Rice: 2010-09-19 10:00:00 (DOY 262)
Author: Jaclyn Hatala
Others: Melanie

Summary: Standard field work.

Twitchell: Arrived around 10am after collecting the remainder of the photodegradation experiment from Tonzi. There was some weird foam shooting out of the water pump, which Melanie though was maybe from phosphates from the fertilizers - a photo is attached. Sky was overcast, with relatively constant breeze from the east. Felt as few raindrops as we were leaving, but it seemed to stop pretty quickly. Rice is heading, and kernels are developing. LAI is down at about 7.43 now, as the leaves continue to die off as the kernels develop. Average plant canopy height is 63cm, and water depth seems to be holding steady from the last visit at 15cm. Noticed the YSI is no longer in the field - Frank I assumed this was pulled last week? Also took LAI measurements with the LAI-2200, but it was too cloudy for spectral reflectance measurements. Screen shots and photos are attached.
