Summary: T/RH not working at Met station; leaf water potential measured; LAI of grass and height sampled.
| when: April 18, 2001, D108 where: Tonzi Ranch who: ddb, xL 0900: clear day; ecosystem is green, trees fully leafed. Young and tender leaves on the trees. Checked the forest floor system. It was operating. Checked Met station and found T/RH not working. Sensor number sn u3030032 Nancy’s sap flow data from station 5 was accumulating into file cr10x5.dat. It was 4meg. Set up task 4 to call md9_5.exe to change name of file each day. We need to do this as these data need to be integrated into our processing program, as we need tree temperature to assess tree heat storage. 1230 Downloaded data.. Swapped Irgas and installed sn 0042 1000-1100. Parents and inlaws of ddb and Mr Tonzi visited site. Visitors were near flux station, so there may be occasional spikes on CO2 signal. Objective of days task was to measure leaf water potential pattern and A/Ci curves, early in season to quantify seasonal trend. We were able to acquire 5 A/Ci curves. It started raining late in the afternoon. Plant water potential is favorable. We also sampled LAI of grass and height. The grass was 12.52 +/- 5.77 cm tall.
