Summary: Collected data, changed CR1000 program to allocate memory better, swapped 7500, fixed HMP45 solar shield.
| Varia 2013-08-13 I arrived about 9:15 with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and warming. The trees looks a little better than last time I was out having dropped some of the yellow and brown leaves. Overall, things look very dry and backed. The water hole is dry. Siyan did the standard field work. I collected all the data. We swapped the 7500 for calibration. Sn0418 went on and sn0042 came off. After I pulled the CR1000 card I uploaded a new version of the EC program. Because of the sonic driven structure of the program the data logger was dividing the available card memory evenly between the slow and fast data. The new version forces the data logger to allocate only 3285 rows (~68days) to the slow data and the rest of the card (~40 million rows = 46 days) to the fast data. After the new program loaded I inserted the new card. I fixed up the HMP45 fan that Siyan installed last visit. I cut some notches in the shield plate so that the fan fit flat and reinserted the plate the Siyan had to remove last time. I also replaced the taped power leads with a screw terminal. We could use a short 10-32 screw for the keyboard platform next time. Getting data off the RPi with a usb memory stick is a little frustrating. Maybe a good powered USB hub would make things more stable. I might also be able to add a power button to turn the Pi off and then the files could be pulled from the SD card with a Windows PC. But then you need a PC with card reader and drivers to read the Linux formatted card. |
