Summary: In the beginning there was a scaffolding.

DWR-Corn
2012-05-17

We began to install this site around 12:30PDT. This site is locate along the third ditch to the east from the main road (Twitchell Island Ferry Rd) where there is access to the fields from the road along the south side of the ponds. There was a tractor disking these fields and they will be planting corn in the next week or so. After they plant they, will spray the fields but not do anymore ground work. However, Jim and Bruce say that the guys driving tractors over there are likely to run down stuff in their fields.

We were able to drive a truck with 4-wheel drive into the field and set up two layers of scaffolding with railings on top. The scaffolding straddles the ditch. I pounded in a post on the west edge of the ditch and tied the scaffolding down to that. One of the cross rails of the railing on top was bent and did not fit. I brought it in to try and bend it back in to shape.
