I arrived about 1PM PDT. It was hot and sunny with a gusty breeze from the west. Jaclyn and Emily G dropped me off while they went to get gas and a second load of scaffolding for the corn site. While I was there Sara, Gavin and Melanie arrived from Sherman where they were doing soil flux measurements.

I pounded a post in under the solar panels and tide the scaffolding down. I only had materials for two guy wires. I think this needs to be increased to four. Moving the battery boxes up a rung or two will make adding more guy wires easier too.

I was going to replace the wire run to the tower with a smaller armored cable but I think the voltage drop may be too much. I think the existing wire is 12gage and the voltage drop is about 1.7V. The solar charger was reading 13.2V, 3.5A solar (batteries full), 1.7A load. At the tower the power strip read 11.52V with the volt meter. I need to check the data. Maybe a power supply at the tower is in order.

When Sara arrived she downloaded the met data and updated the program.
