Summary: Installed new autocam, replaced weather stripping, added braces to doors, power down due to popped GFI on generator.

2011-11-16 I arrived about 8am PST. It was clear, sunny and warm without any wind. There was some patchy fog mostly farther to the northwest. The field is completely flooded. When I arrived the power to the box was down. The generator was running but the GFI outlet on the generator had popped. I reset it and power was restored. Looking at the data files seems it had been down almost a week. Several days of data after our last visit were recorded hopefully catching flood up of the field. I left a message with Jim to check the GFI on the generator. I installed a new camera of a 4x4 post attached to the side of the box. The camera is a Canon A480 with CHDK firmware and a custom script to take photos every 30 minutes. This is a temporary mounting since I didn?t have some of the hardware I needed and wanted to leave the existing plantcam up for a while longer for a cross comparison. I also installed new weather stripping around both door openings on the box. And I put some wooden braces across the top and bottom of the doors to prevent them from warping. I collected some water samples for Jaclyn and Emily G. The water depth is about 20C near the well. Before I left the LGR was reading: 10:03PST, 22.90C, 141.78Torr, 14.303usec, 10Hz, 1.937ppm When I arrived CH4 was as high as 3ppm ? no wind. On my way out, the kestrel that has been sitting on the plantcam had already found the new post. |
