Joe and I arrived at 13:05 PST. Happy new year! It was a mild winter day, calm, cool, and sunny with high thin clouds. The wheat has gotten noticeably denser, and most of the field actually looks green now. There was a yellow jacket and honeybee buzzing around. Joe knocked down two empty wasp nest from underneath the boardwalk.

We left at 13:30 PST and brought the chain and padlock back with us. It was previously used to secure extra scaffolding. There is still a full-layer of scaffolding on the ground by the solar panel in case the wheat gets really tall or for the corn later.

Joe took veg height and did spectral measurements. He poked around in the ground for the missing SHF plate 1, but we decided an animal had probably carried it off.

I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. I changed the eddy clock +1:35min from 13:11:15 to 13:12:50 PST to match the laptop time and restarted logging. There was more water in the bottom of the met box that I wiped up. The line of gasket on the met box door closest to the hinge was loose. I cleaned off the old silicone for the gasket and Joe squeezed on new silicone. I secured the loose gasket and closed the met box door. Hopefully the silicone will dry with the gasket in the right position. Joe jammed a alfalfa root in the bottom U-bolt to tilt the door slightly up so water runs away from the seals.

We still need to think about weatherproof z-cams for this site.

Two weeks ago there was a decapitated mouse on the 7550 box. This time there was half a lizard in the same location. Transmogrification!
