Summary: Quick stop to get end of year data. Lost some power with dark days, still more to do.
Rush Ranch 2025-01-02 Happy New Year! Daphne and I arrived at the ranch at about 10:30 PST. I walked out to the site - it takes about 10min with a fast walk going west of the small hill and jumping a gate to walk on the marsh side on the fence the rest of the way. It was cool and sunny with some hazy clouds and a light breeze from the north. The hills are green and the marsh is brown. The fancy game camera is gone. I collected the met, camera, and flux data. The camera had quit taking photos a day or two before. After clearing the card I manually got some images - I think the card is just old. There are some data gaps due to power outages - there were many really dark and gloomy days with rain over the holidays. The 7500 read: 427.7ppm CO2, 509.1mmol/m3 H2O, 14.77C, 102.1kPa, 99.2SS The 7700 read: 2.06ppm CH4, 45.5RSSI - 83.8 after cleaning No water in the 7550 box - tipping it so the door is pointed slightly up keeps the water off the door gaskets it seems. Need something better than a broken 2x4 for a shim though. I added a screen to the tipping bucket, bird spikes to the sonic, and power to the HMP fan. This site still needs some work to get things ship shape - see previous todo lists. I left the site at about 11:16 and ten minutes later we left the ranch. |
