Summary: Corn harvest in full swing, remove z-cams, no water in the well all summer
Bouldin Corn 2024-08-30 Daphne and I arrived at 10:15 PST. It was clear sunny and warm with a nice breeze. Corn harvest is in full swing with the field directly to our south being harvested and disked. They are also harvesting fields north of the highway. They are taking the entire corn plants down to the ground for silage. I asked when the sorghum was to be harvested and the guy said he had no idea. He said to watch out for trucks coming and going and the road looked heavily used recently. Daphne collected the flux, met, camera and Purple Air data. I cleaned the eddy sensors, the radiometers and topped off the wash reservoir. The 7500 read: 415ppm CO2, 660mmo/m3 H2O, 27.5C, 101.6kPa, 96SS - 98 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.05ppm CH4, 71RSSI - 80 after cleaning The eddy clock was adjusted from 10:23:15 to 10:24:30 and logging restarted. We removed the z-cams sn RPI0W-007 and sn RPI0W-002. Daphne accidently deleted images on one camera trying to shut it down but probably no real change in LAI recently. Our ground sensors are still in place as are Charlotte's chambers - I hope she will get a heads up before they harvest. Daphne swapped the well sensor desiccant and noted there has been no water in the well all this summer. We left at 10:40 PST |
