Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, cold and windy and rainy day after chamber/soil sampling at Gilbert Tract in the morning, no water yet on the field, installed replacement PA
| 2023-12-07 Bouldin Corn Robert and I arrived around 14:35 PST. We are servicing Twitchell/Bouldin Islands after helping with Kuno’s chamber/soil sampling campaign in the first part of the day. It was raining on the way here from Gilbert Tract, so we drove all the way to Bouldin Island rather than stopping first at Twitchell Island. It had slowed to a drizzle by the time we arrived, but it was still cold, windy, and miserable. No hunters there when we arrived but one truck arrived while we were leaving. No water yet on our field or fields to our north or east, although some of the fields on the west side of the island have large puddles. No signal yet from the water level sensor (z=-70cm). Charlotte is planning to put out her tall collars next week. The reservoir was half full; Robert refilled it. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and IRT data. Robert cleaned the rad sensors but didn’t clean the flux sensors because it was drizzling and they would get wet spots immediately. We installed the PurpleAir sensor sn 68c63acc07a9. We plugged it in and saw blinky lights on the card slot. The 7500 read: 426ppm CO2, 406mmol/m3 H2O, 13.3C, 102.1kPa, 100SS The 7700 read: 1.97ppm CH4, 29RSSI (because it was drizzling) We left at 14:55 PST. |
