West Pond: 2023-10-11 13:50:00 (DOY 284)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Kyle, Mel
Summary: Complete data over the past week, plugged 7700 back in, frogs!
2023-10-11 West Pond Kyle, Mel, and I arrived at 13:50 PDT. Mel is a new grad student in Iryna’s lab interested in mammal/bird benefits from wetland restoration projects. It was sunny and mild with a light breeze. There were some wasps buzzing about, but not too bad. We saw several brown-grey frogs hanging out on the cattail by the tower. Most were about 2cm long but there was one frog about 4cm long. The staff gauge read 62cm. Kyle and Mel cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was full since the 7700 has been unpowered to save power. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. I downloaded the miniDOT data and changed the desiccant for the miniDOT and water level sensors. We seem to have complete data from the past week since Joe added in two more batteries and trimmed the willow tree. We decided to plug the 7700 back in to see if our power system can handle it. I connected the 7700 in the 7550 software, reset the box, and all looked fine. I cleaned the 7700—it was really dirty because it’s been off (and therefore not washed) for the past few weeks. The 7500 read: 408ppm CO2, 460mmol/m3, 23.9C, 101.0kPA, 99SS – 101 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.13ppm CH4, 86RSSI after cleaning. We left at 14:25 PDT. |
