Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, installed HMP155, installed LI-7700, updated LI-7550 firmware to v8.8.32, alfalfa green and tall, spectral
| 2021-04-15 Bouldin Alfalfa I arrived at 12:50 PDT. It was breezy and sunny with hazy horizons. The alfalfa is looking nice and green, and the plants in the rest of the field have caught up to the approximate height and fullness of the alfalfa under the tower and under the PL Arables. I didn’t see any mowed alfalfa fields, but this alfalfa looks ready to mow. I downloaded met, camera, and USB GHG data. I downloaded the FD data and cleared its memory. We still have a 2nd FD cable installed here—do we want to add a 2nd FD chamber? I cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was still full since the 7700 had been disconnected. I installed HMP155 sn S3420870 on the tower. I had repaired it in the lab after the cable connector was broken when the sensor fell to the ground. The sensor wasn’t working at first, until I realized I forgot to remove the jumper wires I had put in the mux channels last time to zero-out the empty channels. I also installed 7700 sn TG1-0155 that was fresh back from factory repair and calibration. The set screw on the collar mount still needs to be tightened next time. I set the clock/time zone, wash settings, and heater settings. I don’t remember the exact heater settings from before, but I think I got pretty close. I’ll have to note heater settings next time at BC. I also changed the output frequency from 5Hz to 20Hz. I updated sn AIU-1568 firmware from 8.5.0 to 8.8.32. After the update, I checked that the 7700 was connected, the USB was logging, and the GHG columns and eddy clocks looked good. I took a few spectral measurements. LI-7500 readings: CO2 411ppm H2O 396ppm T 21.8C P 101.6kPa SS 100--> forgot to write after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 2.0 RSSI 84 I left at 13:45 PDT. |
