Sherman Barn: 2019-10-31 09:20:00 (DOY 304)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Camilo
Summary: Calibrated 7700, swapped 7500s, tested and adjusted tipping bucket, couple of cows were loose.
Sherman Barn 2019-10-31 Camilo and I arrived at 9:20. It was clear sunny and cool with little to no wind. There were a couple of cows just outside the gate which had been knocked down. We herded the cows back through the gate and drove the truck to the tower. The 7700 was tilted to the south due to the strong winds last week. Power had been out also due to the wind but was on when we arrived. We straightened and cleaned the 7700 then calibrated it. Before: 2.2ppm CH4, 10.0 RSSI – 68 after cleaning After: 2.08ppm CH4, 67.5RSSI The wash reservoir was mostly full and we tested the spin and wash manually. I think a bunch of spider webs have accumulated on the instrument very recently causing the low RSSI and not using up the wash water. We also swapped the 7500 for calibration: sn 75H-2667 came off and sn 75H-2668 went on. Before: 432.2ppm CO2, 360.7mmol/m3 H2O, 12.0C, 102.7kPa, 99.5SS After: 433.7ppm CO2, 181.1mmol/m3 H2O, 16.0C, 102.4kPa, 100.8SS We tested the tipping bucket sn 49187-109. After cleaning the tipping bucket we connected it to a CR23x and dripped 475ml of water through the bucket which should result in 100tips. We got 90 tips. We turned its set screw two full rotations CW. Camilo cleaned the radiometers and did spectral measurements. I collected the game cam images and reset its clock when I restarted it. We left at 10:15 |
