Author: Joe Verfaillie

Summary: Calibrated 7700, swapped 7500, tested tipping bucket - needs retesting.
Sherman Wetland 2019-10-31 Camilo and I arrived at 10:36. It was clear sunny and mild with little to no wind. The water level was 79cm – plenty of water under the tower. We calibrated the 7700 after cleaning it. Before: 2.2ppm CH4, 32.5 RSSI – 79 after cleaning After: 2.1ppm CH4, 75RSSI The wash reservoir was half full. The tubing protecting the fine wire TC was broken. In swapping it the lump of silicon on the end of the probe came off, but the temperature was still okay. Keep an eye on it. We also swapped the 7500: sn 0041 came off and sn 0073 went on. Before: 415.3ppm CO2, 301.2mmol/m3 H2O, 18.6C, 102.5kPa, 96.3SS – clean 100.4, 420ppm, 258mmol/m3 After: 415ppm CO2, 227.6mmol/m3 H2O, 19.0C, 102.4kPa, 100.0SS We tested the tipping bucket sn 65552-615. After cleaning the tipping bucket we connected it to a CR23x and dripped 475ml of water through the bucket which should result in 100tips. We got 124 tips. This seems extremely high. The set screws don’t seem to be too far out of place. I did find spider webs on the tipper inside that might have been interfering. I cleaned out the spider webs and it should be tested again next time. Camilo cleaned the radiometers. The copper mesh on the minidot looked okay to me – did not swap. We left at 11:40 |
