Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Daphne, Alex
Summary: Cleaned solar panels, brought in Arable due to broken solar panel cable, fixed HMP45 fan.
Sherman Wetland 2019-09-04 Daphne, Alex and I arrived at 10:20 PDT. It was mostly clear, sunny and warm with a few clouds and nice breeze. The water level was 85cm – pretty high. The wetland is still very green. The 7500 read: 409ppm CO2, 757mmol/m3 H2O, 23.5C, 101.2kPa, 96SS – 99 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.4ppm CH4, 15RSSI – 84 after cleaning. The wash reservoir was about 3/4 low – refilled. There was poop everywhere. Alex cleaned the flux, rad and precip sensors – ignore tips. I cleaned the solar panels. We scraped the accumulated otter poop off the boardwalk. The power cable on the Arable sensor sn A001911 had come apart and one part was found in the water with a crushed connector. We brought the sensor, solar panel and mounts in for refurbishment. The HMP60 fan had a broken wire. After fixing the wire the fan was still not working. Inspecting the fan, it was jammed with spider webs. After clearing the webs the fan was working. We picked up some lumber to repair the boardwalk at West Pond on the way out. We left at 10:55 |
