Sherman Barn: 2019-09-04 09:25:00 (DOY 247)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Daphne, Alex
Summary: Standard data collection, upgraded 7700 firmware, new cows released near tower.
Sherman Barn 2019-09-04 Daphne, Alex and I arrived at 9:25 PDT. It was warm with a light breeze and a few patches of fluffy clouds. The tall weeds to the southwest of the tower are dry and brown but grass near the tower and to the northwest is green. The chambers are nearly over grown by green grass. There is a patch of pepper weed near the tower – I hope we didn’t bring in the seeds. There are cows in the field and two pickup trucks with trailers brought in and released another dozen or so cows just west of the tower just before we left. The 7500 read: 413ppm CO2, 820mmol/m3 H2O, 23.7C, 101.2kPa, 101SS – 103 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 47RSSI – 77 after cleaning We updated the 7700 sn TG1-0357 firmware from v1.0.21 to v1.0.27. To do this we had to change the 7700’s IP address to 192.168.2.77 – it was still at the default 169 subnet. After update the 7700 read: 2.05ppm CH4, 76RSSI Wash reservoir was topped up. Alex did spectral measurements: files 50-55 good sun, files 56-60 varying light. Daphne noticed that the CR1000 was reporting its power at 11.4V. I adjusted the power supply up to 13.6V which brought the power at the CR1000 up to 12.4V. We left at 10:10 Looking at the data back in the lab, there are two spikes in AirT on 2019-08-24 and 2019-08-28. During that period, nighttime temperatures also look suspiciously low compared to other temperature measurements. I will check the wiring next field visit. |
