Summary: Picked up far CH4 release point and secondary tower, veg height, single wand LAI, Jaz overheating.
| Bouldin Alfalfa 2019-09-04 Daphne, Alex and I arrived at 15:30 PDT. It was mostly clear, turbo-hot and humid. The alfalfa is knee high and looks happy. We left a huge triangle of tire tracks in the field going first to the far CH4 release point then the tower and back to the road. We first picked up and brought in the far CH4 release point. The tank was empty. CR10X data logger sn 47253 and solar charge controller sn 12501584 were removed. We left the big ABS pipe inside the scaffolding since the truck was not capable of carrying it. At the tower: The 7500 read: 392ppm CO2, 1130mmol/m3 H2O!, 33.1C, 100.8kPa, 96SS- 92 after cleaning The 7700 read: 1.97ppm CH4, 33RSSI – 73 after cleaning The temporary tower: The 7500 read: 378ppm CO2, 930mmol/m3 H2O, 31.8C, 100.0kPa, 96SS The 7700 read: 2.21ppm CH4, 10.7RSSI There was no auto wash of the secondary tower and the RSSI seems to have been low for much of the last two weeks - possibly spiderwebs on the upper mirror which the auto wash wouldn't have fixed anyway. We removed the temporary tower. Sonic sn 120907 removed from inverted lowest location Sonic sn 153805 removed from top of temporary tower 7700 sn TG1-0396 (AMP unit) 7500 sn 0073 7550 sn AIU-1866 The HMP60 was remounted on the northwest corner post of the scaffolding at 70cm near the max height on the alfalfa. The radiometers and Arables were cleaned. The bird spikes on the Arables don’t seem to reduce the amount of bird poop and make it much harder to clean them – remove the spikes next time. Alex did veg height and LAI (single wand) but the Jaz was maxing out again. The unit itself was warm to the touch – maybe overheating. We left at 16:25 |
