Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Daphne
Summary: Standard data collection, some recent rain including today maybe, Tyler was there checking on the chambers.
Sherman Barn 2019-09-18 Daphne and I arrived at 9:00. It was mild and overcast – raining in Berkeley on our way out. The field is green in the lower central parts and brown on the edges. Tyler was there checking on the chambers and said cows were around the tower when he arrived but move off to the north. The 7500 read: 374ppm CO2, 885mmol/m3 H2O, 21.2C, 101.5kPa, 94SS – 103 after cleaning The 7700 read: 1.95ppm CH4, 53RSSI – 77 after cleaning The wash reservoir was full. The 7500 numbers were similar at other sites with the CO2 climbing to about 400ppm and water dropping to about 720mmol/m3 after cleaning. Recent rain might have left dust or dampness on the windows. Daphne did spectral measurements. AirT data seems ok – previous low values and spikes not evident. I looked at putting batteries in the game cam but couldn’t figure out a way to do it without totally removing the line power. Wasps have built a nest in the radiation boom on the end opposite from the radiometers. It was cool and damp so the wasps were lethargic. I smashed the nest and knocked off the wasps but they may return. We left at 9:30 |
