Camilo, Katrina and I arrived at about 11:15. It was clear sunny and hot with a light breeze. The alfalfa in our field is tall and full of flowers and bees, butterflies, lady bugs and caterpillars. Tylerâ€™s field and a couple more nearby have been mowed but none on our side of the ditch.

Camilo and Katrina set up to measure A-Ci curves with the LI-6400. The two battery cables either had the wrong connector or a bad connection. We spliced the two together to get a working cable. They also discovered if they torqued a connection on the data cables at the head, the temperature problem they saw at corn went away. All the cables need review before next time. They did three full A-Ci curves.

I collected the data:
The 7500 read: 394ppm CO2, 754mmol/m3, 27.7C, 101.6kPa, 97.9SS â€“ 100.7 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 1.85ppm CH4, 44.5RSSI â€“ 84.0 after cleaning
The wash reservoir was full.
I tried to adjust the 7550 time but the 7700 reset it. So I set the 7700 clock to be slave and adjusted the 7550 time by 2min.

I took three clip plots, did LAI and spectral but forgot to do veg height. There are heights on the clip plots. The alfalfa was 60 to 70cm tall.

I measured the instrument position, but the ground sensors can no longer be found.

I also cut all the alfalfa under the tower expecting them to mow the field soon. I pulled the alfalfa away from the solar panels. The panels are dusty and need washing but I didnâ€™t have the spray bottle.
