Bouldin Alfalfa: 2019-07-26 13:50:00 (DOY 207)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Camilo, Katrina
Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, field mowed but not baled, lots of bird poop, knocked down wasps' nest
2019-07-26 Bouldin Alfalfa Camilo, Katrina, and I arrived at 13:50. It was sunny and hot, with mostly clear skies. The alfalfa was mowed on 2019-07-24, but had not baled yet. The mowed piles were crispy. There were generous amounts of bird poop on the instruments and on the tower. Camilo trimmed uncut alfalfa under the tower, but left the alfalfa under the tower (trimmed at last visit) for potential LI-6400 measurements. Katrina cleaned flux sensors and Arable sensor/solar panels. Camilo cleaned rad sensors and knocked down a palm-sized wasps nest under the radiation boom. He tried to take spectral measurements, but the reference measurement was oversaturated—I need to see if we can correct this for next time. I collected met, camera, USB, and FD data. The wash reservoir was mostly empty; I refilled it. LI-7500 readings: CO2 396ppm H2O 696ppm T 31.8C P 101.5kPa SS 98--> 100 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 1.78ppm RSSI 2-->73 after cleaning We left at 14:30. |
