Summary: New and borrowed harvester arrived, ground sensors pulled from field for harvest.

10-6-2009 Arrived about 11:30. Clear, sunny, warm, light breeze from the north. New harvester and borrowed harvester have arrived. One load will be harvested from Field 1 10/7 and taken to processor to check water content, if it is ready then harvesting will begin in earnest. First I went to Frank’s tower and pulled CNR1 and PAR from the field and reinstalled on single post in grass on berm slope. Propane canon is setup on battery bank. Also pulled UCD sites in that area. Four sets of pallets, collars, flags, lysimeters (?). Five water samples bagged and left in refrigerator at field. At our tower location all is well. I pulled all the ground equipment from the field. All looked to be at the levels that were reported upon install. Then I moved the tower and box back away from the edge of the field by about two feet. The radiation boom is swung to the north over heavy grass at edge of the field. The LGR tubing was disconnected briefly at about 1200 PST (1300 PDT). The tipping rain bucket was moved to the south of the box. Most of the archived data was removed from the netbook. The power line from the generator was moved back from the edge of the field and flagged. Well dimensions. Top of pipe was 45cm above soil surface. Mud at bottom of pipe was 88cm below top of pipe. Bottom of probe was buried 13cm below mud surface at bottom of pipe. |
