Summary: Missing wash box cap, installed another camera, conductivity and Campbell out out water - lowered, miniDot collected.
| East End 2018-10-04 I arrived at 11:10 with Dennis and Kuno. It was mild with patchy high thin clouds and a light breeze. The water level was good but I forgot to write down the staff gauge reading. Recent light rain left the gas analyzers (especially the 7500) dirty. The 7500 read: 296.3ppm CO2, 1043mmol/m3 H2O, 21.4C, 101.5kPa, 76.5SS The 7700 read: 1.98ppm CH4, 55.0RSSI – 80.0 after cleaning The wash reservoir cap and temporary plastic cover are missing and the box was full of wasps. I had brought a cap form a jug in the lab but it was way too big. I left it there covering the hole though. We installed another camera. This time it is a used Canon A570IS. The power button has been modified to two wires and can be activated by the CR1000 C8 port through a transistor. After collecting the CR1000 met data I updated the program with one that toggles C8 at dawn and dusk. The camera program should run automatically on start up, DISP button to see the screen, MENU button to quit. The conductivity and old Campbell DO sensors were out of the water. It seemed as if someone stepped on the cables pulling the sensors up and out of the water. The Campbell DO cable was chewed. We should look at how it compares with the miniDot and probably remove it. Both sensors were lowered into the water again. The conductivity was reading a reasonable value. We downloaded the miniDot data. We left at 11:55 |
