Summary: Replace batteries, surface renewal, check electric fence.
| Arrive 13:00 Clear and warm -15:00 regulator status light on yellow led -remove 2 – 100 Amp hr excide deep cycle batteries from flux system and replace with 2 - 85 Amp hr sealed lead acid batteries – will compare these later and expect sealed batts to perform better -replace deep cycle batt powering 23x/10x met loggers with fully charged batt -Surface renewal – remove red SHF lead from ground and place in channel DE 4 hi; Thermo couple in channel DE 6 has polarity reversed, change from red-hi, purp-lo, shield-gnd to purp-hi, red-lo, shield-gnd -electric fencer voltage very low. However, if one places a hand directly on ground and touches fence a “GOOD†shock is delivered. Burry 2 - 8ft ground rods in horizontal configuration about 4 inched deep at opposing corners of fence connected with #4 ground wire and routed to fencer ground terminal – no help voltage still low. Carefully inspect fence and discover wire shorted to fence post. Isolate wire from post and high voltage returns. |
