Summary: Installed wind profile, swapped 7500s, swapped MP probe, Tower computer okay, Tower sonic not working, tree hit be lightning.

I arrived about 10:30 with Ana. It was cool and breezy with a few clouds. A tree near Tonziâ€™s house looks like it got hit by lightning. It was split down the center and the main trunk was completely stripped of bark. The big plastic cow water container was sitting in the road â€“ we moved to the side. Seems like Tuesdayâ€™s storm was windy with lightning. The ground was wet, but not muddy in most places.

Ana and I worked of setting up a wind profile with the old Handar 2D sonics. We set up a guyed post near the floor tower in the stand of tree to the south east. Installation went well and it was running. We need to check the level of a couple of the sonics and the headings. A CR1000 sn 66250 and NL115 sn 13053 (not used) are in the box to collect the data.

I swapped the 7500 on the Floor site â€“ sn 0041 came off and sn 0073 went on. I restarted the Floor computer. It was being slow and not getting the serial data from the sonic â€“ however the CR1000 seemed fine.

I also swapped the 7500 on the Tower â€“ sn 1594 came off and sn 0035 went on.

I swapped the Moisture Point probe near the Tower. Sn 000007931AFE was pulled and has a broken pin second from bottom. Probe sn 00000128B8072 went in the same hole.

The computer at the Tower was still beeping as Siyan reported. However, a hard restart worked and it booted up okay. I left it running.

We swapped the desiccant in the BF5 sensor. It had a puddle in the bottom of its enclosure and significant condensation inside.

The sonic on the Tower was not working. I checked all connections and cycled power. I pulled the sonic off the Floor tower to swap in, but when I took the connector off the bottom on the Tower sonic, I notice that the wires were all rotted and frayed with one black wire completely disconnected. I will need to go back out next week with a replacement sonic, cable and RS422/232 converted box just in case.
