Summary: Heavy fog, power off do to low volatage - reset, repaired small damage to soil co2 and radiation due to sheep, installed new camera, dead lamb under tower
Alfafla 2014-12-23 I arrived about 1:15pm with Kyoko and Hiashi. The roads to the field were all flooded. We drove on the field along the edge all the way up to the site. There are still some sheep to the east. There was a dead baby lamb under our tower. Need to bring a shovel next time. I was so foggy we could barely see the tower from the south edge of the field. Power was off due to low voltage cut off. I reset the charge controller. The batteries were 24.7V (24V system) but the panels were only supplying enough power to keep up with the load - 1A. The damage to the radiation and soil sensors was not too bad. The sheep had chewed one of the PAR wired in two places cutting out a piece of wire but leaving enough to reattach to the CR10X. The north 2cm Vaisala, and the 2cm Forerunner probes were knocked loose, I reset them. I raised the soil CO2 box on its post. I collect all the data from both systems. The 7500 was all wet with dew and spider webs and was reading nothing. After cleaning it read: 460ppm CO2, 570mmol/m3 H2O, 84.8SS, 12.47C, 102.05 I put in a new camera and hopefully plugged the hole the ants were using. The HMP60 fan needs to be replaced. After looking at the data, only two days of complete data in the last two weeks. |
