Summary: Cattails continue to fill in footprint. Bird of prey having lunch on rad boom. Pulled up and replaced SHF #3.

East End Wetland

We arrived about 15:20 PDT. It sunny, warm, and windy. Cattails continue to grow and fill in the footprint. The wetland to the east of the tower has almost no cattails but is quite full of tall water grass (Johnson grass?). Sara took water samples. I downloaded data.

When I got to the box on the tower I looked into the water and saw a dead bird and a dead rat. There were worms hanging off the radiometer above this area. Maybe a large bird of prey dropped its lunch a few times. I tried to get Sara to take water samples over there but she refused.

Sara pulled up SHF #3 and put it back, noting that it was likely just sitting on the soil surface rather than buried.

7500 readings:
CO2 = 15.6 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning)
H2O = 650 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning)
p = 100.9 kPa
t = 26.5 C
Diag: 248 (same after cleaning)

7700 readings:
CH4: 1.87 ppm
RSSI: 35% variable +- 3% (86% and stable after cleaning)
Reservoir was full.

MET looked good.
Cleaned rad (dirty).
