Summary: Regular field work. Set up forced diffusion chambers and uploaded new soil CO2 program. All running well.

We arrived about 9:15 PDT. It was sunny and warm with a decent breeze. The pepperweed is heavily flowered but duller in color and seems to have fallen in stature somewhat. I attended to the tower, did moisture point, well depth, spectral, and a veg height transect. Patty and Madeline did soil respiration and set up the forced diffusion chambers (see photos). Patty moved profile B 16cm vaisala probe to a new location just a few cm away. This level has been reading strangely high lately, perhaps from the earwig infestation, so we wanted a fresh start.

Downloaded data. The computer restarted upon arrival.

Uploaded new soil CO2 program (v9) to include forced diffusion chamber measurements. At first the readings for all soil CO2 probes including the forced diffusion readings were bad. We thought there might be a bug in the manual measurement flag so we went to Mayberry and returned later. The readings were still bad and troubleshooting revealed a disconnected power cable. After the fix all readings looked good.

LGR readings: 1.89 ppm, 09:19, 22.5 C, 142.9 Torr, 14.73 us, 10 Hz

7500 readings:
CO2: 15.9 mmol m-3 (16.05 after cleaning)
H2O: 430 mmol m-3 (385 after cleaning)
P = 101.2 kPa
T = 25.8 C
Diag: 249 (same after cleaning)

Soil CO2 looked good.
Met looked good.
Cleaned rad.

Veg Height (cm): Tape measure from ground to top of plant - pepperweed fully flowered but duller and a bit wilted. Grass gone to seed.
