Summary: Regular fieldwork. Alfalfa flowering. Irrigation ditch full of water at north end of field.

We arrived about 15:15 PDT. It was hot and sunny. The alfalfa is flowering and the bees are buzzing. I attended to the tower and downloaded data while Patty and Madeline did spectral, clip plots, and a veg height transect.

After finishing up at the site, we drove north along the ditch that the tower is in to check if there was an irrigation channel to the north of the field. There was, and it was full of water. Preoccupied with this important exploration, I failed to consider that if there was indeed water irrigating the field, the ditch we were driving in would likely be wet near said irrigation. It was, and I got the truck stuck (lousy 2-wheel drive!). Jim pulled us out. We love Jim.

7500 readings:
CO2 = 385 ppm (397 after cleaning)
H2O = 420 mmol m-3 (400 after cleaning)
signal strength = 92.4% (94.2% after cleaning)
p = 101.2 kPa
t = 30.2 C
sos = 351 m s-1

Met ok.
Rad ok, but 10x needed restart upon arrival.
Cleaned radiation sensors.
Washed solar panels.
