Summary: Standard field work, data collection, bird poop everywhere - cleaned up, soil temp sticks broken off
| Twitchell 2013-07-10 I arrived about 11:30 with Laurie, Yanel and Cristina. It was clear and warm with a strong breeze from the northwest. The rice looks good this year, very few weeds and uniform coverage. Cristina noted that rice seems more spread out this year probably due to the lower planting density. The 7500 read: 386ppm CO2, 650mmol/m3 H2O, 25.87C, 101.73kPa, 78.6% SS -> 79 The 7700 read 1.860ppm CH4 and 41 RSSI rising to 65 after cleaning The bird spikes on the sonic were pushed to the side and there was lots of poop and some left overs on the sonic transducers. There was also lots of poop on the pyranometer and solar panels. The other radiation sensors werent very dirty. I cleaned everything up. All three of the soil temperature stakes had been knocked down. The middle one was completely broken off and I pushed it back in nearby to mark the location. The south one was still partially attached, I stood it back up but it will probably fall down again. The one to the north I could not find. The others did the standard fieldwork. |
