Summary: Moved portable tower, Trucks battery was dead, tried to add bird spikes to LI7700.

I arrived about 10:30 with Sara and Carina. It was clear and sunny with a good breeze from the west. It was mild but warming quickly. The cattails and tules are flowering reducing the overall green appearance of the wetland slightly.

We started to move the portable tower, but the truck had a dead battery. I swapped the truck battery with one of the solar batteries and the truck started right up. We moved it back to the first location to the south. Before moving the truck I checked the heading to the sonic it was pointed at magnetic north (see photo). At the south location the portable system remained off while we serviced the main tower. We got the portable system going before we left taking the solar battery back out of the truck and reconnecting it to the solar system. I also added bird spikes to the sonic and added a mount for spikes to the LI7500.

At the main tower I collected data while Sara and Carina went to check on the Tule Tower. They could not reach the DO sensors because the water is too deep.

I removed the solar shield from the top of the LI7700 to clean off the bird poop and I tried to attach bird spikes with silicon using tap to hold it in place while the silicon dries. I need to do a better job in the lab.

The LI7700 RSSI was 29. After cleaning it was 77.

The USB to serial adapter was left in the box on the main tower.
