2012-05-31 I arrived about 2pm PDT with Sara and Carina. It was clear, hot and sunny with a little bit of a breeze beginning to pick up. Heavy equipment is still dumping rock and gravel in the field just south of the road. The pepper weed is a sea of flowers but the pollen seems less dense in the air. The nasty “hell weeds” are coming up. I pulled out the two wells in the field and a fence post. The well pipes did not have holes in them, so I drilled two rows of holes on opposite sides. I put one of the wells back in the ground inside the cow fence on the north side of the enclosure new the Moisture Point sensor there. The top 20cm of ground was very hard and dry. Below that it was soft and there was water below about a meter. The LGR read: 14:19PDT, 30.37C, 148.45Torr, 15.106usec, 10Hz, 1.893ppm The data loggers looked okay. SHF plate 1 had some bad data in the last collection, but I couldn’t see anything wrong near the multiplexor and the pepper weed was too think to trace the wire very far. The fan on the HMP45 was not running. Sara and Carina did LAI, spectra and Moisture Point. |
