Summary: Maintenance trip but missing supplies so more work needed, swapped 7500 for calibration, regular data collection/cleaning
2024-10-17 East End Joe and I arrived around 10:30 PST. It was mild and partly sunny, with plenty of mosquitoes buzzing within the canopy. Today was a maintenance day. I had planned to move the CR1000 and AM16/32 from the bottom level to the middle level, and Joe had planned to raise the solar panels by swapping in a full-height scaffolding for a half-height scaffolding. In the end, we didn’t complete either. As Joe was climbing the solar scaffolding, one the ladder rungs on the bottom layer broke off, so he decided we should be swapping out the whole scaffolding, not just the upper layer to raise its height. We need to come back with another full-size scaffolding set, cross-braces, feet, and concrete piers. Joe cut back some of the vegetation to the solar panel. We will probably just build a fresh 2-layer scaffolding tower, then move the solar panels and batteries over. I needed a few extension wires to do a good job on the re-wiring: a 6-lead wire to connect the CR1000 to the AM25T, and 2 extension wires for the SHF plates. I decided to leave the task for another time. I chased about 2 dozen sleepy wasps out of the middle enclosure and sealed it up again with black electrical tape. I’ll try the steel wool next time. I swapped the 7500 for calibration: sn 75H-2514 came off and sn 75H-2669 went on. I uploaded the config file, updated, the pressure coefficients, changed the eddy clock +1:15 from 11:34 to 11:35:15 PST to match the laptop time, and reset the box. All looked ok. old 75H-2514 read: 423pm CO2, 516mmol/m3 H2O, 20.8C, 101.1kPa, 98SS – 100 after cleaning fresh 75H-2669 read: 413ppm CO2, 643mmol/m3 H2O, 21.7C, 101.1kPa, 95SS 7700 read: 2.18ppm CH4, 35RSSI – 75 after cleaning I checked the conductivity sensor as part of its routine check every 3 months. The orifice was clear. The staff gauge read 57cm. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. The wash reservoir was full. We removed the extra boardwalk from the top scaffolding layer to bring to Rush Ranch next week. And moved the usual upper boardwalk to the wooden boardwalk in case it get windy. We left at 11:55 PST. |
