Summary: Visiting student, regular data collection/cleaning, heat wave next two weeks
2024-06-27 East End Sharmila and I arrived around 11:40 PST (12:30 PDT). It was warm and sunny with clear skies. We stopped at the levee by the pumphouse for lunch and to show Sharmila the view. It’s only been a week since our last visit, but the schedule has been jiggered around because of Hill Slough soil sampling and the CRAM assessment for the wetland sites. There will be a major heat wave in the next two weeks. Sharmila is an undergraduate student visiting AMP for a week and using Ameriflux data for her senior thesis. Today was her first time visiting a wetland! There were sheep hanging out by the well pad and not one, not two, but three separate livestock guardian dogs. The staff gauge read 79cm. The wash reservoir was full, so we did not refill it. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. The HMP60 data seem ok since I fussed with the wiring last week. Sharmila and I cleaned flux and rad sensors. Sharmila noticed a little scratch on the rim of the LWin sensor. Sharmila measured the surface water conductivity. Sample, temperature-compensated conductivity, temperature Surface, 173.0 uS, 19.0 C The 7500 read: 429ppm CO2, 518mol/m3 H2O, 28.1C, 101.0kPa, 95SS – 96 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 40RSSI – 76 after cleaning We left at 12:00 PST (13:00 PDT). |
