Hill Slough: 2023-07-24 09:40:00 (DOY 205)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Ngoc
Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, windy!, swapped 7500 for calibration, sampled porewater sipper
2023-07-24 Hill Slough Ngoc and I arrived at 9:40 PDT. It was super windy, sunny and cool with some cirrus clouds. Today was Ngoc's first time to the Delta wetland sites. There was plenty of water above the soil but the tide was ebbing. Ngoc couldn't believe there was only about 10cm of water above the ground because she thought it looked much deeper. the staff gauge read 4.5ft at 9:10 PST. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. Ngoc cleaned flux and rad sensors. The reservoir was 90% full; Ngoc refilled it. We swapped the LI7500A for calibration: sn 0041 came off and sn 75H-2176 went on. I uploaded the new configuration file and updated the pressure coefficients. I changed the eddy clock +30sec from 9:22:15 to 9:22:45 PST to match the laptop clock and reset the box. All looked ok. 0041 read: 405ppm CO2, 630mmol/m3 H2O, 19.2C, 101.8kPa, 99SS 0041 clean read: 407ppm CO2, 616mmol/m3 H2O, 19.3C, 101.8kPa, 102SS 75H-2176 read: 412ppm CO2, 644mmol/m3 H2O, 18.5C, 101.8kPa, 99.3SS The 7700 read: 1.97ppm CH4, 69RSSI – 73 after cleaning We sampled the porewater from the sipper under the tower. Ari thinks this sipper is at 10cm depth. Kyle has started sampling porewater conductivity from Mayberry and is interested in the Hill Slough data as well, especially how it changes as vegetation colonizes. Sample, Temperature-compensated conductivity, Sample temperature, Time Porewater, 9.57mS, 21.5C, 9:35 PST Ngoc added some split loom to the exposed power cable at the tower. We left at 10:35 PDT. |
