Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, hot day, swapped 7500 for calibration, weird power issues - swapped DC-DC converter, HMP155 no data - fixed
2023-07-11 West Pond Carlos and I arrived at 11:05 PDT. We had to wait to cross the bridge over Threemile Slough. It was sunny and hot. There will be another heat wave this weekend with temperatures >36C Friday through Monday. The wetland is continuing to green up. The inlet was off. The staff gauge read 59cm. Carlos cleaned flux and rad sensors. He cleaned off spiderwebs and white fluff from the sonic; he also fixed one of the sonic spikes that had slipped down. I topped off the wash reservoir and downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. The camera card only had photos through 2023-07-01, so there is still some power problem somewhere. We swapped the desiccant for the miniDOT and water level sensors. I checked the conductivity sensor as part of its routine check every three months and confirmed the orifice was clean. The HMP155 was not giving any data since midnight on 2023-07-04. I cycled its power, which seemed to fix it. AirT=26.3C, RH = 48%. The aspirator fan sounded like it was running. We noticed the CR1000 power had been weirdly low since the power was repaired on 2023-06-15, but it went back to a normal 12.8V around 21:00 on 2023-06-30. The DC-DC converter changing the incoming 24V to 12V had some dead ants and ant eggs inside. Maybe they caused some of the weird power stuff. I swapped in a new DC-DC converter. All the met data looked ok after the swap. The 7700 heater settings look ok for summertime, so I did not change it. We swapped the LI7500A for calibration: sn 75H-2180 came off and sn 75H-2514 went on. I uploaded the new configuration file and updated the pressure coefficients. All looked ok. 75H-2180 read: 417ppm CO2, 717mmol/m3 H2O, 28.7C, 101.4kPa, 100.9SS 75H-2180 clean read: 424ppm CO2, 640mmol/m3 H2O, 27.9C, 101.4kPa, 101.9SS 75H-2514 read: 428ppm CO2, 672mmol/m3 H2O, 29.1C, 101.4kPa, 100.3SS The 7700 read: 2.03ppm CH4, 51RSSI – 89 after cleaning We left at 11:45 PDT. Looking at the data in the lab, I think there's still some weird power stuff happening there. Missing about half-day of flux data on 2023-06-28. The camera was off and only had photos until 2023-07-01. The ant-filled DC-DC converter might explain the missing camera photos, but the flux sensors are on the 24V power strip and shouldn't be affected by the DC-DC converter. |
