Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, 7700 wash tubing bitten--fixed temporarily, swapped 7500 for calibration
2023-07-11 Mayberry Carlos and I arrived at 9:15 PDT. It was mild with a cool breeze with clear skies and plenty of sunshine. There will be another heat wave this weekend with temperatures >36C Friday through Monday. The 7700 wash tubing had been bitten in half, with some other chew marks below and above the mark. Carlos fixed it temporarily with some heatshrink. Next time I’ll bring replacement tubing, and maybe some split loom. Carlos cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was 1/3 empty, probably because the 7700 was trying to wash but no water was making it to the sensor. We refilled it. We swapped desiccant for the miniDOT and water level sensors. The eosGP needs a new copper screen; there’s only half a screen left right now. I scrubbed the bottom of the staff gauge, which read 36cm. I checked the conductivity sensor as part of its routine check every 3 months and confirmed the orifice was clean. I updated the hours for the 7700 heater to reflect summertime hours. Old hours = 21:00 to 09:00. New hours = 20:00 to 07:00. I’ll have to set a reminder to adjust the hours in a few months when the days are shorter, cooler, and more humid. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. I had trouble connecting to the 7550 and 7700 at first because they did not show up in my drop-down menus. I was able to see the 7550 by manually entering the IP address in the winGHG software, but I couldn’t figure out how to manually connect to the 7700. I restarted the laptop and was able to connect fine to both the 7550 and 7700. We swapped the LI7500A for calibration: sn 0418 came off and sn 75H-2182 went on. I uploaded the new configuration file and updated the pressure coefficients. All looked ok. 0418 read: 426ppm CO2, 742mmol/m3 H2O, 22.2C, 100.8kPa, 101SS 0418 clean read: 428ppm CO2, 755mmol/m3 H2O, 22.7C, 100.8kPa, 102SS 75H-2182 read: 430ppm CO2, 708mmol/m3 H2O, 23.0C, 101.0kPa, 103SS The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 39RSSI – 87 after cleaning There were some ants in the met box so I left them a mothball. The solar panels were quite dusty so I cleaned them. The transparent plastic film on the bottom Kyocera panel is starting to wear down in places where it’s covering cracks. I’m not sure how easy it is to replace the film, or maybe we can just put on another layer? We left at 10:10 PDT. |
