Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, 7700 calibration

Robert and I arrived at 13:35 PDT. It was breezy, warm, and the reeds are starting the block clear passage through the walkway to the tower. The precip bucket pole has slid down so the bucket is about 1m above the walkway. The pole is attached to the walkway post with two conduit straps. Since we don’t have any rain in the forecast, we left the bucket as is and next time I may replace the conduit straps with hose clamps.

The wetland is mostly green now, although I saw one of our usual caterpillars we’ve seen at Mayberry/Sherman and here in the past. The staff gauge read 50cm.

I collected met, cam, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. I changed the miniDOT and water level sensor desiccant. It smelled like mothballs when I opened the met box, although I didn’t see any ants. I left some more mothballs in it just in case. Robert cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was full so we did not top it off.

We did the 7700 calibration. The offsets were small and all seemed well. Optics RH=16%, so we did not flush the headspace or change its desiccant afterwards. I checked the wash settings because in recent data it seemed like the wash was only working when RSSI <10. The RSSI threshold seemed fine at 30%, but I did change the spray from 10sec to 30sec; the spin is still at 45sec.

The 7700 read: 1.98ppm CH4, 40RSSI -- 83 after cleaning
