Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, hazy air, inlet on and water level high, camera/sonic spikes pointed down, loose wire on 24V-12V converter--fixed, trimmed willows
2020-10-05 West Pond Joe and I arrived at 8:50 PDT. It was a warm and still day with blue skies above but hazy horizons. The Rio Vista EPA AirNow site reported an AQI around 100, between “Moderate†and “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.†The wetland still looks mostly green. The inlet was on full blast and the staff gauge read 71cm. Joe trimmed some of the willows by the tower. The camera was pointed slightly downward, and the sonic spikes were all pointing downward. Joe fixed the camera and sonic spike angles and replaced one of the broken sonic spikes. I collected met, camera, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. I swapped the miniDOT and water level sensor desiccant. I added a stainless steel carabiner for the miniDOT plastic chain to replace the temporary cable tie. Joe cleaned flux and rad sensors. I topped off the wash reservoir. I left mothballs in the met datalogger box. The 24V-12V converter had one loose connection, which I fixed. Hopefully that will make BattV (measured by datalogger) more stable. I didn’t see the usual red LED light on the converter, but it still seemed to be working. Eventually we should upgrade this site to a pluggable 24V and 12V power strips.
