Bouldin Alfalfa: 2020-06-01 00:00:00 (DOY 153)
Author: Camilo Rey-Sanchez
Others: Cassie
Summary: A-Ci curves
Cassie and I arrived at 9:15 AM. It was fresh for most of the day with partially cloudy skies. The alfalfa was tall and flowering. The leaves were smaller than the last time but there were some that covered most of the area of the cuvette and those where measured. We positioned a tarp near the tower and located ourselves and the console of the machine in the shade but measured leaves exposed directly to the sun. Five A/Ci curves were built using the following concentrations: 400, 300, 200, 150, 100, 75, 50, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, and 1300 ppm. The temperature was kept ambient and the light at 1500 umol m-2 s-1. The sample and reference IRGAs were matched after every CO2 step, as usual. After completing each curve, the leaves were collected, chlorophyll fluorescence was measured, and leaves were taken to the lab. We finished at 1:30 PM and helped Joe troubleshoot one of the arable marks that needed to have a reset done. |
