Bouldin Alfalfa: 2019-08-21 13:25:00 (DOY 233)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Camilo
Summary: Checked on CH4 release experiment, uploaded new datalogger program for far (nighttime) release point
2019-08-21 Bouldin Alfalfa Camilo and I arrived at 13:25 PDT. It was a warm and sunny day with a cool breeze. The alfalfa has been baled, but the bales are still on the field. Some of the bales are directly between the tower and the far (nighttime) release point. Camilo trimmed the alfalfa under the tower and we removed some remaining hay under the radiometers that had not been baled. I washed the solar panels, and next time we could trim the alfalfa growing by the solar panels. We also knocked down two small wasps' nest from inside the radiometer boom--maybe we can cover these openings? I downloaded the met data and the USB GHG data from both the permanent and temporary tower. I cleaned both LI-7700s. We drove to the far (nighttime) release point and uploaded a new program to the CR10X. The previous program had faulty logic that would never open the ball valve. The methane tank was still at 2000 psi. We did not test the flow rate using an AM-release program since we had just adjusted it Monday. Permanent tower 7500 readings: CO2 426ppm H2O 713ppm T 31.5C P 101.0kPa SS 99 Permanent tower 7700 readings: CH4 1.95ppm RSSI 33 --> 80 after cleaning Second tower LI-7500 readings: CO2 396ppm H2O 731ppm T 32.6C P 101.1kPa SS 98 Second tower LI-7700 readings: CH4 1.95ppm RSSI 29 --> 70 after cleaning We packed up the empty methane tank and the black ABS pipe and left at 14:25 PDT. |
