Tonzi 2019-05-30 I arrived at about 11:30 with Siyan and Ana. Our lock is still out of the loop on the gate. It was sunny and warm. The ground is still damp from the recent rains. There was even a little puddle in the road at the stream crossing. The grass here is still mostly green with lots of flowers. Ana and I tried to reset the FLIR focus which has been bad for about a month, but the software I had was either incompatible with the A325 camera or didn’t have a function to set the focus. We called FLIR and setup a service request by email. I checked my email before leaving and found a link to a free software called eBUS. Ana had Wes download the software and send it to her Android phone. She was then able to move it to the LattePanda and install it. It was pretty complicated but we finally found at button to reset the focus and all seems well. Otherwise the LattePanda was running okay. The FLIR images (all blurry) were all on the SSD with default names because the micro SD card was failing and was removed last time out. I was going to put a USB drive on it but ran out of time. Ana and I set up two Apogee IRTs and two DFRobot IRTs. We installed two near the floor solar panels pointed at the patch of grass to the north. Apogee sn 7385 was installed on a 1m post at the fence line pointing down at an angle of about 30deg giving it a footprint of about 1.23m x 2.5m diameter. DFR sn TS01-001 was install further back near the solar panels at 2m agl pointing down at an angle on 30deg giving it a footprint of about 0.7m x 0.35m. Both were hooked up to the CR10x at the concrete cal panel. One TC was removed from the CR10x, the data was collected and a new program was uploaded. I need to double check that the correct Apogee coefficients are in that program. Another CR10x sn 47772 with an Apogee sn 7638 and a DFR sn TS01-002 were set up near a tree to the north of the Floor solar panels. The Apogee and DFR are pointed at the trunk of the tree. The Apogee is 40cm from the trunk with about a 20cm diameter footprint. The DFR is 110cm from the trunk with about a 10cm diameter footprint. The CR10X box is off to the southwest and edge on to the FLIR FOV. The CR10X is set up as an SDI-12 sensor for the CR10X at the concrete cal panel. I forgot the power plug for the CR10X so the power is wired directly to the 12V and G ports. All of this is in the view from the FLIR. Siyan did soil moisture, well depths, midday water potential, DBH, and collected the data from the other data loggers. She also repaired the cow fence around the Tower. |
