Summary: Swap old AM416 with new AM16/32, SHF plates coefficients confirmed, todo list.
| When: Sat 6Mar04, JD-66 Where: Vaira Ranch Who: Ted Hehn Weather Clear and warm. Saturday 3:09 pm remove AM 416 multiplexer from Vaira and install new AM 16/32 MUX – all went well and all values appear correct. I erred when installing the soil heat flux plates and did not record the order that they were installed on the MUX. I reinstalled them in the following order: 1st: sn 000137 Cal = 60.0 uW/m2 2nd: sn 000141 Cal = 59.0 uW/m2 3rd: sn 000143 Cal = 58.6 uW/m2 17:00 The new MUX installation is complete and all parameters appear reasonable. Level all radiation instruments before leaving site. Misc Notes Buy a flat spade and conduit to bury heat flux plate and cable at Vaira. Exchange spare sonic at tower with one that has been recently calibrated and check the old spare in the lab for accuracy. Make 3 sets of insulator plates and screws for the K&Z rad sensors for next site trip Build leveling table for tower boom arm. Make angle braces for Vaira boom arm Get N2 tank to Tower site Make/buy clamp mechanism for Vaira swivel boom arm it is not laterally stable. Get copy of radiation calibration program and check PRT coefficient The CR 10x data logger box needs to be replaced. Removing the MUX/logger is not convenient as you must remove the back plate to do so!!! Regulator box at Vaira – Rob Roy Industries PN J1210hll 4x Check rad instruments for level upon arrival at Vaira before removing calibration setup to Tonzi 5:28 Leave Vaira site Bring cooler with ice and snacks for all site visits Bring graphite and fine oil for padlocks Check on scheme to restart PC if com port initialization fails by monitoring .flx file or by closing Gillsonic when com port error is detected and let PC208 restart. |
