Summary: Standard fieldwork, water level good, cleared some tule near the solar panels
| East Pond 2018-08-23 I arrived at about 12:25 with Daphne and Kuno. It was sunny and mild with a cool breeze and very poor visibility due to haze. This wetland still looks very green with many other species of water plants competing with the tules and cattails. The water level was 61cm. The inlet was running but the water level seemed good so I didn’t adjust it. I cut down some tules shading the solar panels. Next time the solar panels could use washing. Might be possible to put in a stepping stone (cinder block?) to make it possible to get to the panels without waders. Kuno collected the data The 7500 read: 385ppm CO2, 667mmol/m3 H2O, 22.7C, 101.9kPa, 96SS The 7700 read: 1.9ppm CH4, 42RSSI – 72 after cleaning. We left at 12:45. The levee road north of the ponds is getting over grown with willows. |
