Summary: Very hazy, water level very low, cable gate still sagging, swapped one miniDot batteries.
Mayberry 2018-08-23 I arrived at 15:55 with Daphne. The cable gate is still so low that you might be able to drive over it. Most of the doors on the trailers next to the levee were open. It was cool, sunny and windy with very poor visibility due to haze. The water level is very low – the tower is now beach front property. After cleaning the staff gauge the water level read 14cm of soft saturated muck and not standing water. The water was kind of an olive green color. Daphne collected the data: The 7500 read: 390ppm CO2, 740mmol/m3 H2O, 24.6C, 101.2kPa, 102SS The 7700 read: 1.99ppm CH4, 40RSSI – 84 after cleaning The wash reservoir was about a third low – refilled. Water samples for Isabel were taken at 14:55 PST We forgot the card reader so could not collect the camera images but checked that the camera was running. I swapped the batteries in the top MiniDOT sn 1221. After re-lowering the boom the fluorometer is about 10cm above the muck, the upper Eos and MiniDOT are about 15cm above the muck and the bottom Eos and miniDot are laying on their sides on top of the muck. There are dirty paw prints all over our stuff. The solar panels should be cleaned next time – we didn’t have the squeegee. We left at 16:20 |
