Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, field planted, moved soil sensors back into field
| 2018-05-31 Bouldin Corn We arrived at 9:50. It was warm, breezy, and mostly clear but hazy. The field has been tilled and planted. The soil appears dry but is wet once you start digging a few cm down. Tyler arrived soon after us to put his chambers out. We helped him untangle some cords and buried our 3 sets of soil sensors (soil moisture, soil heat flux plates, thermocouples) under his cable runs. We straightened the tines on one of the Campbell soil sensor probes and retaped some of the surface thermocouples that had come loose. We also put the theta soil moisture probe near the tower since that cable was shorter. Alex refilled the wash reservoir and cleaned the flux/rad sensors. I collected met, camera, and USB GHG data. LI-7500 readings: CO2 388ppm H2O 635ppm T 17.0C P 100.8kPa SS 97 --> 102 after cleaning LI7700 readings CH4 2.05ppm RSSI 17 --> 77 after cleaning We left at 10:40. |
