Summary: PC shut itself down prior to arriving to site; sensitivity of PAR sensors has changed.

June 9 - I arrived at vaira and discovered pc had shut itself down -
replaced battery that I removed - this PC will not allow removal of the
battery - unlike PCs at Tonzi tower and floor systems which will operate without batteries.
removed par sensors leads from data logger and measured output with
multimeter - showing 6.5 mvolt and showed continuity between shield wire and case body. This tends to confirm that the sensitivity of the PAR sensors at Tonzi has changed and that it is not related to grounding or some other problem.

What is the history of the PAR sensors at Tonzi? Were they ordered/received at the same time as the ones at Vaira. Were they new or were they used somewhere else? Were they ever taken on a airline to Oregon or elsewhere and possibly exposed to a x-ray security scan?

Left sites to return rental van to Oakland by 14:00 Saturday (closing time) and avoid charge for Sunday and Monday.

D166

Here is some notes from my trip on d166;
At Vaira site: arrived 8:00 , hot, temperature mid 90, calm, no
wind. The power of electric fence was not turned on.
All straight lines for sonic program on the screen. After I looked the size of the raw data file, this was start from d159 730. Download the data and reboot the computer. Communication between CR23x and the laptop was good.

At Tonzi Ranch:
Got 3 A/Ci curves. Just I finished the 3rd A/Ci curve, the IRGA quit working due to the high temperature.
The floor system was running good. We got all the communications between the laptop and all the dataloggers. replaced the laptop (SN 0015916832, window NT) at the tower site with the one (SN0015426906, window 2000). Gillsonic program was running properly from the morning to afternoon.
PS: when I got there at Tonzi ranch, the fence door for the
floor flux system was open, fortunately no cows getting into it. The
orange fence door was also not closed properly, the lid of the storage box
was also open. The power of the electric fence at Vaira was not turned on.
Dennis; you may want to stress this issue again to the whole
group to make sure this kind of thing won't happen again.
